Impressionistic designs derived from plants on the natural fibres of silks, cottons, linen and wool
Liz’s deep-rooted love of fabric and texture has involved an experimental approach, using a plant’s essence to create colour and pattern. Transferring this colour to textiles never fails to excite with one result on cotton creating a different tone on silk, linen or wool. Seeing green indigo leaves transform into a range of blues is fascinating. Madder can produce corals, orange and red. The work shows hand dyeing and weaving on scarves and cushions.
