Penny De Corte
Venue 4: Barmby Moor
Ceramics
Tactile ceramic art including sensuous sculptural vessels, wall plaques and animal forms, all hand crafted by coiling, burnishing and smoke-firing
From a very young age Penny was inspired by the talents of her parents in arts and crafts; from then she has enjoyed delving into many forms of art. Once Penny discovered clay it became, and has remained, her absolute passion. Gradually building with coils of clay, she creates curvaceous, sculptural vessels, wall plaques and animal forms refined by burnishing to create a tactile finish which negates the need for glazing. Once kiln fired the final process is spot smoke-firing.
